The K series comprises two off-road motorcycles produced by the Cagiva motorcycle manufacturer: the Cagiva K3 50 and the 125cc K7. These models, derived from the Cagiva Cruiser, are accompanied by the Cagiva Super City for supermotard enthusiasts and the Cagiva N90 designed for desert riding.
The K3 and K7, distinguished by their slimmer profile compared to the previous “dakariane” versions, were created to compete with the Aprilia RX and Gilera RC. However, they achieved significantly lower success, likely attributed to their unconventional aesthetics and lower technical specifications. The K3 version, closely resembling the top displacement model, was in production from 1991 to 1993.
The distinctive feature of the Cagiva K3 50 and K7 (initial versions) was undoubtedly the “hybrid” front, featuring a number plate at the top of the fork in a cross style. This was combined with a “half dome” without a windshield and a small tubular protection in the same color as the frame. Later, a more traditional dome design was adopted. Other notable aspects differentiating these bikes from previous models include normal forks with elastic protection for the stem, die-cast forks (only for the 125), and a double and round headlight, reminiscent of the Cagiva Elefant bifaro or the Tamanaco/N90, while the rest of the bike remained unchanged.
