Neuralink, a neurotechnology company, has successfully implanted a microchip into a human brain for controlling external devices through thought power. The owner of the corporation, American billionaire Elon Musk, shared this news on the social media platform X.
According to Elon Musk, the implantation surgery was successfully performed on January 28th, with a volunteer being the first recipient.
“The first person received an implant from Neuralink. The volunteer’s recovery is going well,” wrote the businessman. He also mentioned that the initial users of Neuralink implants will be individuals who have lost control over their limbs.
Musk added that “the first data obtained on the performance of the implant shows promising results.”
Musk’s company received approval for human experiments in May 2023.
Earlier, Musk predicted the emergence of a billion humanoid robots on Earth by 2040.
