The Japanese automotive conglomerate Toyota Motor has decided to suspend deliveries of ten models due to incorrect engine power data.

According to the company, the measurement equipment software used during certification tests differed from that employed in mass production.

This discrepancy could lead to inaccurate engine power measurements, as reported by the TASS agency.

The conglomerate has halted deliveries of ten models, including the Land Cruiser and Hilux, equipped with the mentioned engines.

Toyota, one of the best-selling brands globally, faced challenges in 2023 when it suspended deliveries of ten models due to erroneous engine power data.

According to information provided by the conglomerate, the measurement equipment software during certification tests differed from that used in mass production.

Toyota, being one of the largest car manufacturers globally, suspended deliveries of all Daihatsu-branded vehicles in December. The decision was made after a safety investigation revealed defects in as many as 64 vehicle models, some of which also involved Toyota cars. Now, as Reuters reports, issues have arisen with the certification tests of diesel engines.

According to the reports, “a special investigative committee found irregularities in output power tests as part of the certification of three diesel engine models.”
